Job Summary: We are currently hiring for an experienced Fire Door Carpenter who has worked on both installing and maintaining, to cover the East London area. A great opportunity to work within a dynamic team, with the added advantage of van and fuel card provided. Our client is also offering successful candidates the opportunity for locksmith training for those seeking to build on their skillset.
Location: East London
Salary: £40 000 per year
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with relevant fire safety regulations and standards by installing fire doors correctly and ensuring they function as intended.
- Perform inspections on fire doors to assess their condition and identify any deficiencies or failures.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance work on fire doors such as replacing any damaged parts, adjusting door closers and addressing issues with hinges, intumescent seals.
- Install and test fire rated hardware such as panic bars, hinges, latches and locks to ensure they meet fire safety requirements.
- Offer guidance and advice to clients on fire door regulation, standards and best practices.
- Keep accurate documentation of fire door installations, repairs and inspections.
- Minimum of 2 year’ experience in woodworking industry preferably doing similar work is necessary.
- Minimum 1 year fire door installation and servicing.
- Knowledge of basic joinery assembly practices is necessary.
- Understanding of timber material specification is necessary.
