Introduction: Ignite Recruitment are looking for a Fire Extinguisher Engineer to join our clients dynamic and active team.
Job Summary: As part of a Fire maintenance team this post will require a diligent person to perform repairs and servicing to client’s fire extinguishing appliances in communal, plant and service areas. You will be able to diagnose, source replacements and carry out repairs in accordance with the current regulations / legislation.
Location: Positions in various inner London boroughs, Greater London
Salary: £36000
Key Responsibilities:
- To service and if needed replace/maintain fire extinguishing appliances within client’s residential and commercial premises.
- Comprehensively surveying sites to ensure their safety, the adequacy of their portable firefighting equipment, and their compliance with the relevant British Standards.
- Safely handling the portable firefighting equipment (pressure vessels weighing up to 20kg each).
- Manage van stock correctly ensuring relevant paperwork is submitted to replenish stock, ensuring first time fix where possible.
- Ensure mobile PDA device is used correctly at all times and faults reported quickly to your line manager.
- Ensure compliance documentation is completed and shared with line manager in real time.

- Report any accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences (including ‘near misses’) or unsafe situations to your supervisor or line manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Fire extinguisher servicing training -BAFE, FPA, FIA or equivalent
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience
- Full driving licence
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work alone and within a team
- Desirable; Keeping up to date technically and applying new knowledge to your role
- Desirable; Certificate of Training Achievement for Working at Height, Manual Handling, First Aid (1-Day), or other.
