Reports to: Workshop Manager 

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our client’s set & scenic team based in Hertfordshire, as a Scenic Carpenter / Joiner. This role, offered by a reputable recruitment agency on behalf of our client, involves interpreting working drawings and briefs to create scenic elements to a high standard of finish both in workshops and on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret working drawings and briefs accurately and efficiently.
- Build and deliver bespoke scenic elements to a high standard.
- Operate specific machinery in line with company procedures.
- Manage own workload appropriately and seek assistance when required.
- Maintain excellent time-keeping and work to deadlines.
- Maintain all tools and workshop facilities appropriately.
- Report all damages, losses, or breakages to the Workshop Manager in a timely manner.
- Assist with the installation of projects on site as required.
- Liaise between crew, other suppliers, and clients when on site.
- Act as an ambassador for the company at all times.
- Champion and promote best practices in all areas of health and safety.
- Adopt a positive, can-do attitude to all challenges.
- Support the Senior Leadership Team in developing processes and procedures to improve all aspects of the company’s operations.
- Undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Senior Leadership Team.

Requirements:
- Excellent working knowledge of construction techniques in timber, laminates, plastics, metal, and fabric.
- Ability to work well as part of a wider team or using own initiative.
- Keen to learn and develop expertise continually.
- Meticulous and thorough in work.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
- A full driving license is highly beneficial.
