Our client is now looking for a Joinery Buyer. Working within the high end joinery sector. 

Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Plan and manage the purchase of goods, services, and bespoke items, including reviewing, comparing, and evaluating received prices.
  • Procure goods, materials, or services within specified budgets, quality standards, and project timelines.
  • Prepare quotations and raise purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, production teams, and colleagues to ensure materials and products are available in the correct quantities and on time.
  • Provide detailed briefs to suppliers and contractors, ensuring they understand the exact requirements. Conduct quality checks at supplier factories to ensure work meets expected standards.
  • Maintain positive relationships while negotiating specifications, pricing, and deadlines.
  • Manage and update the Workshop Quote Log and Monthly Project Report to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Keep supplier information current and organized.
  • Develop ideas and processes to enhance efficiency and support continuous improvement efforts.

About You:

  • Organized, confident, and quick-thinking with a resilient personality suited to a dynamic work environment.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of production, including metalwork, plastic fabrication, joinery, spray shop, and LED technology.
  • Proficient in using Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Apple MacBook.
  • Must live within a commutable distance of Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
  • Previous experience in a joinery-related role is essential.

Additional Information:

  • Full-time position based in the Hertfordshire office, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Potential for additional hours during peak production periods.
  • 25 days of holiday per year.
  • Enrolled in a statutory government pension scheme.
